Chahar Bagh School or Madrasa Madar-i-Shah (Shah Mother’s School), the construction was built during Soltan Hossein (16-17th century), a Safavid king, to serve as a theological and clerical school to train those who were interested in such sciences. In order to finance the school, Soltan Hossein’s mother had a large caravansary built nearby, the income of which went to the foundation.

It was built between 1611-1629 near Naghsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan city, Iran by 5th Safavid Dynasty king Shah Abbas. Name of Mosque was Shah Mosque before the 1979 Iran İslam Revolution. The mosque is depicted on the reverse of the Iranian 20,000 rials banknote.
